A new morning flight is being introduced by Eastern Airways from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Aberdeen, offering greater convenience for business travellers and offshore workers.
From 7 February 2011, the Humberside-based business airline, which started Liverpool services to Aberdeen and Southampton in July 2009, will launch an 8.10am timing to Aberdeen. The new convenient morning flight replaces the existing 10.40am departure.
The new 8.10am weekday timing will be offered alongside a 5.45pm flight on Mondays and Tuesdays, plus a 5pm departure on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to Aberdeen from Liverpool. Fares from Liverpool to Aberdeen start from £75 one way, including taxes and charges.
Roger Hage, Eastern Airways’ ground operations manager, said: “We’ve adjusted our timings to offer an improved morning departure from Liverpool to suit the needs of Aberdeen-bound business travellers and offshore workers. We continue to offer a network of services to Europe’s energy capital, enabling day return journeys that reduce overnight stays.”
Nick Smillie, aviation sales director for Peel Airports Group, said: “This route is proving to be invaluable for the region’s passengers who need to travel to this important destination. These improved timings demonstrate Eastern Airway’s commitment to their passengers and in particular workers who will now be able to better link into the various offshore helicopter flights heading out to the North Sea oil and gas rigs.”
Eastern Airways also offers day return flights from Liverpool to Southampton and has made some minor timing adjustments to the services. From 7 February, flights to Southampton depart from Liverpool 20 minutes later in the morning at 8.30am and 10 minutes later in the evening at 6.05pm.
Dedicated fast track security channels at Liverpool, Aberdeen and Southampton allow Eastern Airways passengers to avoid any security queues. All passengers departing from Aberdeen Airport with Eastern Airways have access to its dedicated business lounge.
