Ryanair today (24th June) called on easyjet to stop making false claims about operating ‘Europe’s youngest fleet’ and resume publishing its on-time flight performance so that passengers can decide for themselves who operates Europe’s youngest fleet, and who is the No 1 on-time airline.
Ryanair operates Europe’s youngest fleet with an average age of just 2.8 years, yet the ‘Why fly easyjet’ webpage claims easyjet operates ‘Europe’s youngest fleet’ with a fleet age of 3.4 years. Equally Easyjet’s website continues to hide its lousy punctuality figures which simply can’t compete with Ryanair.
Ryanair called on easyjet to stop making false claims about its fleet age and hiding the truth about its poor punctuality by amending its website and publishing monthly punctuality, passenger complaints and lost bag statistics.
Ryanair’s Stephen McNamara said:
“Easyjet’s punctuality statistics remain on the “missing” list and now they are making false claims to passengers about their fleet age in a vain attempt to get them to fly with their high fare, frequently delayed flights. Clearly easyjet are getting increasingly desperate because they know they can’t match Ryanair’s prices or our punctuality either. This is why many more passengers prefer to fly cheaper and more on-time by flying with Ryanair.”
