New CEO for Geneva airline Baboo

The Geneva-based airline Baboo announces the appointment of Mark Darby as the company’s new CEO.

       

Mark Darby has thirty years experience in the field of aviation. Previously, he was the CEO of LIAT, the Caribbean airline based in Antigua.

       

 

       

Mark began his career as an aircraft planning engineer with a number of British airlines. He then held various senior positions with leading consultancy firms such as “Deloitte & Touche” and “IBM” specialising in aviation. Mark Darby succeeds Jacques Bankir, who is leaving the company after having served as the company’s CEO for two years. Jacques Bankir enabled Baboo to move to a new level by ensuring the growth of the company in 2008. He was able to control the company’s rapid growth and initiate partnerships with companies such as Air France, Alitalia, Olympic and Tarom in an challenging economic environment. Jacques Bankir remains on the Board of Baboo and continues to serve as Associate Director of the Group AVICO (Avico Aero Consulting).
