China Airlines and Garuda Indonesia Sign Cooperation Agreement

China Airlines and Garuda Indonesia today signed a Memorandum of Cooperation providing more convenient and value-added services for passengers traveling to destinations throughout Asia. The agreement was signed at a ceremony jointly presided over by Mr. Huang-Hsiang Sun, President of China Airlines, and Mr. Emirsyah Satar, President and CEO of Garuda Indonesia. Under the new agreement, the two carriers will expand cooperation in code-sharing, operate Frequent Flyer Program, boost commercial cooperation for passenger & freight, and pilot simulator training programs.

       

China Airlines and Garuda Indonesia have a long history of successful cooperation dating back to 1991, when the two carriers began code-sharing on their Taipei-Denpasar, Taipei-Jakarta and Taipei-Singapore-Surabaya routes, as well as implementing inter-line check-in services, a Special Prorate Agreement for passenger and cargo. Under the newly signed agreement, the two carriers will expand the scope of cooperation, creating a mutually beneficial situation by more efficiently utilizing their resources.
