Singapore Airlines Faces Sharp Profit Drop as Half-Year Net Falls 68 %

Singapore — Singapore Airlines (SIA) announced that its net profit for the six months ended 30 September 2025 dropped by approximately 68% compared with the same period last year.

Despite sustained strong passenger demand, the carrier cited increased operating costs, intensified competition and macro-economic headwinds as key factors in the declining profitability.

SIA emphasized that rising fuel and non-fuel expenses, combined with downward pressure on yields, meant that the cost base expanded more rapidly than revenue growth could keep up.

The airline warned that although travel volumes remain robust, ongoing challenges in the global aviation environment mean the second half of the financial year is likely to remain under pressure.
