Emirates has taken delivery of their fourth super jumbo, double deck Airbus A380. This puts them two A380s behind Singapore Airlines who have six in service, however, Emirates expect to close the gap in spring this year when they get their 5th.
The aircraft was handed to Emirates in Hamburg and was the third delivery in December by Airbus, the delivery which ensured the manufacturer meet it’s delivery commitment of twelve A380 aircraft in ’08. Earlier this year Airbus CEO wagered a bottle of champagne that the firm would meet it’s target of 12 A380 deliveries, the Emirates aircraft ensured that Airbus won it’s bet!
