Turkish Airlines Secures $412 Million Financing from Bank of China
Turkish Airlines, Türkiye’s national flag carrier, has successfully completed a landmark financing transaction with Bank of China. The five-year facility amounts to 2.9 billion Chinese yuan (approximately US$412 million).
The funds will be used to support key growth initiatives including:
- Expansion of the airline’s fleet
- Enhancement of cargo and other business operations
- Construction of new facilities and infrastructure projects at Istanbul Airport
This agreement, coordinated by Bank of China Türkiye and its Macau branch, marks a significant move in diversifying Turkish Airlines’ financing sources and strengthening economic and cultural ties between Türkiye and China.
“Our collaboration with Bank of China under this financing transaction strengthens not only our financial framework but also contributes to the broader strategic relationship between Türkiye and China,” said Murat Şeker, CFO of Turkish Airlines.
