Cathay Pacific Launches First-Ever Direct Flights from Hong Kong to Munich
Hong Kong, June 2025 – Cathay Pacific has launched its inaugural non-stop flight between Hong Kong and Munich, marking the first direct connection between the airline’s home hub and the Bavarian capital. Operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft, the service runs four times weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
This new route expands Cathay Pacific’s European footprint, complementing its recent seasonal launch to Rome and its upcoming return to Brussels in August. Together with HK Express, the Cathay Group is expected to add 18 new destinations to its passenger network in 2025, now covering 100 global destinations.
Cathay’s Chief Customer and Commercial Officer Lavinia Lau emphasized Munich’s role as a key European hub and reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to growing global connectivity through its codeshare partners and expanding flight options.
In addition to passenger services, Cathay Cargo will operate seven weekly freighter flights between Europe and Hong Kong during summer 2025.
