LOT Polish Airlines Places First-Ever Airbus Order for 40 A220 Aircraft
Paris, June 2025 – LOT Polish Airlines has signed its first-ever order with Airbus, confirming the purchase of 40 A220 aircraft—20 A220-100s and 20 A220-300s—as part of a major fleet modernization plan. The agreement, unveiled at the Paris Air Show, includes options to expand the order up to 84 aircraft.
Deliveries will begin in 2027, with the A220s set to gradually replace LOT’s existing regional fleet. The new aircraft will enhance LOT’s competitiveness in European markets and support its growth strategy, particularly ahead of its expanded role at the upcoming Central Communication Port in Poland.
The Airbus A220 family offers industry-leading fuel efficiency, lower emissions, reduced noise footprint, and enhanced passenger comfort. Designed to serve markets of 100 to 160 seats, the A220 is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1500G engines and capable of operating up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).
This milestone order represents a strategic shift for LOT, as it joins the Airbus customer base for the first time.
