Finnair is continuing its Asian conquest by adding flights to Osaka, Japan. As of 1 January 2011, Osaka will be served by one additional flight per week, bringing the number of flights in the winter season to six per week.
"Demand in Asian traffic is growing strongly, and we are increasing capacity to Asian destinations in line with our strategy.
The shortest routes between Asia and Europe pass through Helsinki, so Finnair is able to offer its customers fast and efficient connections due to its favourable geographical position," says Finnair’s SVP Commercial Division Mika Perho.
From the end of the year, Finnair has added direct flights not only to Osaka, but also to Seoul and Nagoya. Moreover, Finnair will open a direct route to pulsating Singapore in May and increase flights to Hong Kong in June. Next summer, Finnair will fly a record number of 74 flights per week to 10 Asian cities.
