HILLSBORO, Ore. — Officials say two people were hurt when a plane they were in had to crash-land Thursday afternoon at an airport outside Hillsboro.
The crash was reported around 2:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks Airport in Hillsboro.
Washington County sheriff’s deputies found the 1963 Piper 250 Comanche single engine plane damaged on the runway.
The pilot, 39 year-old John Gorman, was getting some additional training from flight instructor 68 year-old Ronald Magnus.
Initial reports say Gorman was coming in for a landing and didn’t have enough speed to land on the paved runway.
Both men on board suffered non-life threatening injuries. They were taken to the hospital for treatment.
No official word on what caused the plane to crash.
