At the invitation of the Macau Sports Bureau, Macau International Airport Company Limited (CAM) has convened airport employees for the 11th consecutive year to participate in the World Challenge Day. On 30th May 2018, the activity was held at the departure hall (airside) of Macau International Airport (MIA), together with various operation companies, including CAM, Airport Information Management Solution Limited (AIMS), Companhia de Segurança de Macau Ltd. (SEMAC) and Menzies Macau Airport Services Ltd. More than 80 employees from Macau International Airport participated in the activity. Passengers at the airport also experience the fun of sports. For the first time, MIA mascot “GOGO” accompanied along with the staff, under the leadership of the professional dancers to exercise for 15 minutes at MIA.
The World Challenge Day is a worldwide fitness program organized by the International Mass Sports Association (TAFISA) & the Association of Asia Pacific Group (ASFAA), in which to arouse the public’s enthusiasm for physical exercises. The event is categorized according to the population size, whilst drawing lots is used by TAFISA to determine the competitors of participating cities. This year, Macao competed against Irapuato, Mexico with a population of about 500,000.
