While the project is expected to kickstart on March 30, 2018, the stipulated timeline for the completion of the project is currently December 2018! Starting off with Kempegowda, all the other domestic airlines will be roped in after three months, reported The Economic Times.
All passengers boarding international flights will be able to benefit from the new entry system by October 2018.
The Aadhaar-enabled entry and biometric e-boarding system are expected to quicken the process of confirmation and validation of personal identity for airport passengers.
It will enable authorities at the airport to completion of verification in under five seconds at every checkpoint until the boarding gate, bringing down the current 25 minutes of screening to under 10 minutes.
