China Airlines is to open a new service from London Heathrow to Taipei's Taoyuan airport from March 28.
It will be the only carrier to serve the route directly, with three-times weekly flights using A340-300 aircraft.
Philip Wei, China Airlines' chairman, said: “As the leading airline in Taiwan, China Airlines is committed to promoting tourism, culture and the economic development of the island.”
China Airlines now serves five destinations in Europe, with a total of 21 flights per week between Taiwan and Europe.
