Asiana's Carriers to be Clean Zone of the H1N1

Asiana Airlines (CEO: Young-Doo Yoon) judging that the understanding and concerns of the H1N1 Flu is greatly affecting the air-transportation industry but further more affecting the tourism industry as well as the economical recovery. Asiana, in order to dissolve the concerns or air travel and to recover the fear of traveling mentality, will be strongly strengthening its disinfection measures of the aircrafts.

Even thought the 3rd quarter is showing recovery in the boarding rate, this procedure was decided in order to strengthen the prevention of the spread of the H1N1 virus and to recover the mentality of traveling. It is anticipated that during the mid-short term, the demand in travel will increase and the tourism industry will be active.

All of Asiana Airlines cabin air ventilation systems will be installed with the HEPA Filters (HEPA Filters block 99.7% ~99.99% of corpuscles that size in 0.3micron. Corpuscles that size less than 0.3micron will be blocked by the multiple capture mechanism) in which the outer air will be supplied to the cabins. Also outer air will be circulated between 2~3 minute period with new air. It is predicted that infection inside the cabin through air is not possible.

To furthermore ensure the safety of the passenger’s health, Asiana will strengthen the current quarantine procedure by adding the H1N1 Flu quarantine procedure to the regular quarantine program regardless any H1N1 patients appear inside the aircrafts.

Hand sanitizers will be placed inside the cabins, flight attendants will clean the door knobs to the doors of the toilets, the levers inside the toilets, faucets, basins with pollution free sterilizing chemicals in killing the germs.

Around 5~50 Influenza masks will be placed per air-carrier. Incase a suspected flu symptom passengers appear, the flight attendants will kindly ask the passenger to wear the mask and locate the suspected passenger to areas in the cabin were there are less passengers.

Asiana Airlines to prevent the spread of the H1N`viruses inside the air carrier have, will be using the sanitizers that the U.S. Environment Protection Agency (EPA) and airline manufacturers both have approved that the chemical is environmental friendly. The sanitizers show strong sterilizing powers and will be used starting from the 30th of this month.
