Brisbane Airport is heading for a record Christmas this year, and with the city's traffic continuing to get busier, Brisbane Airport Corporation Pty Limited (BAC) is encouraging people to plan their trip to the airport over the holiday season.
If passenger growth in recent months is any indication, Brisbane Airport is headed for a record December, resulting in around 370,000 people traveling through Brisbane Airport internationally, and around 1.3 million domestically. BAC Executive Manager Corporate Relations, Jim Carden, said Brisbane Airport has planned ahead for the record number of people expected to be traveling through the airport over the Christmas period. “We are still experiencing growth at Brisbane Airport, despite the hit to the world’s economy this year, so we have planned for our busiest holiday season yet,” Mr Carden said. “The good news for Queenslanders is Brisbane Airport’s new privately funded road network is open and working effectively, allowing double the capacity on the airport road network, which will greatly assist in dealing with the extra vehicles that this time of year brings to the precinct,” Mr Carden said. “We’ve also introduced new car parking products, like our ParkQuick product. If you’re picking someone up from the terminal, drive into the car park and pay $2 for 15 minutes, instead of circling the precinct. “However, to be on the safe side, passengers should visit brisbaneairport.com.au to plan their trip to and from the airport, so they are familiar with the new roads, car park arrangements, public transport options and access to the terminals.” “We also suggest passengers anticipate additional queuing time within the terminals, as the airlines work to get millions of people through to their holiday destinations.”
