Avolon Reports Strong 2025 Performance, Expands Fleet and Financing

Global aircraft leasing company Avolon has reported a solid performance for the full year 2025, underpinned by significant fleet growth and expanded financing activity. The company concluded the year with a substantial increase in its owned, managed and committed aircraft portfolio.

During 2025, Avolon acquired 168 aircraft, including more than 100 aircraft obtained through its acquisition of Castlelake Aviation Limited. In the final quarter of the year, the company added 21 new aircraft to its fleet.

Avolon also achieved a record level of aircraft sales, with 95 aircraft sold over the year. Of these, 26 aircraft were sold in the fourth quarter, and agreements have been reached for an additional 72 aircraft.

Demand for newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft remained robust throughout the year. Avolon placed 59 new-technology aircraft with airline customers, including 10 deliveries in the last quarter of 2025.

In a major strategic step, Avolon placed an order with Airbus for 90 aircraft, consisting of 75 A321neo and 15 A330neo jets, with deliveries scheduled through 2033.

By the end of 2025, Avolon’s total fleet — including owned, managed and committed aircraft — stood at 1,132 aircraft, with approximately 500 aircraft under order and commitment.

On the financial side, the company strengthened its position with favorable credit rating actions: Moody’s and Fitch both upgraded their ratings, and S&P revised its outlook to positive. Avolon also expanded its unsecured revolving credit facility to USD 6.3 billion, with maturity extended to October 2029.

In addition, the company secured USD 6.6 billion in new unsecured debt financing during the year, including USD 3.6 billion in senior unsecured notes and USD 3 billion in new bank facilities.

Avolon said that these results reflect sustained airline demand for modern aircraft and long-term fleet renewal, driven by efficiency and sustainability priorities.
