Airbus and ASFAT Take Strategic Step for MRO Collaboration in Türkiye
Global aerospace and defense player Airbus Defence and Space and ASFAT, a key organization in Türkiye’s military maintenance and production infrastructure, have initiated a significant cooperation process for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services for military aircraft in Türkiye.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the parties, a joint working group will be established to evaluate potential cooperation models aimed at enhancing MRO capabilities in Türkiye. This structure is designed to develop a sustainable and efficient business model from both technical and operational perspectives.
Focus on Adding Value to the Local Ecosystem
The planned collaboration aims to provide world-class maintenance, repair, and modernization services in Türkiye for Airbus military aircraft platforms. The infrastructure to be developed is expected not only to improve the sustainability of existing fleets but also to contribute significantly to the local aerospace ecosystem.
Through this initiative, the transfer of technical know-how, the development of local capabilities, and the strengthening of Türkiye’s MRO capacity in the defense industry are among the key objectives.
