Vietnam Helicopter Corporation Expands Fleet with Airbus H225 Modernization Move
Vietnam Helicopter Corporation has taken a major step toward fleet modernization by ordering three Airbus H225 helicopters from Airbus Helicopters. The move aims to support the expansion of offshore energy operations while gradually replacing aging aircraft in its fleet.
Strengthening Offshore Operations and Fleet Renewal
The order was placed through VNH’s subsidiaries, Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company and Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company. The new helicopters will play a critical role in offshore transport missions, particularly for the energy sector, where reliability and operational performance are essential.
This investment reflects VNH’s long-term strategy to modernize its heavy helicopter fleet and enhance operational flexibility across multiple mission profiles.
A Long-Standing Partnership with Airbus
The agreement further reinforces a partnership between VNH and Airbus Helicopters that spans more than four decades. Both companies continue to deepen cooperation as VNH upgrades its fleet with advanced-generation aircraft.
Industry observers note that such long-term collaborations play a key role in ensuring operational continuity and technological advancement in the helicopter segment.
Multi-Mission Capability and Advanced Technology
The Airbus H225 helicopters will be deployed across a wide range of missions, including:
- Offshore energy transport
- Utility operations
- Search and rescue (SAR)
- General transport services
As part of the Super Puma family, the H225 is recognized for its high payload capacity, extended range, and strong performance in challenging environments. Advanced avionics and autopilot systems enhance safety while reducing pilot workload.
Positioning for Future Growth
With global demand for offshore operations and specialized air services continuing to rise, the addition of H225 helicopters is expected to strengthen VNH’s operational capacity and competitiveness.
The aircraft is also expected to become a core component of the company’s future fleet, supporting both capacity growth and mission versatility in the years ahead.
