EVA Air, based at Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport, has selected Thales to provide avionics services and support for its fleet of 11 A330 aircraft.
The second largest Taiwanese airline has signed a five-year Repair-By-The-Hour (RBTH) agreement, which covers the support and maintenance of a selection of Thales avionics equipment. Thales will ensure the maintenance of the components from its Regional Service Centre located in Singapore. The Thales RBTH program provides guaranteed turnaround times, commitment on reliability with reduced operational risk at a predictive cost which aims at maximizing value to the airline. “We are very proud that EVA Air has shown its trust in us. This is a significant win for Thales which reinforces our presence in the fast growing Asian market”, said Daniel Malka, Head of civil Aerospace Services Worldwide for Thales. With this contract Thales manages the maintenance and support programmes for three of Taiwan’s major airlines, China Airlines signed in 2007, Transasia in 2008 and EVA Air in 2009.EVA Air signs onto Thales component maintenance program for its A330 fleet
