Seçtiklerimiz

Passengers
In November Brussels Airport welcomed over 1.3 million passengers, a 6.6% increase on last year. Growth was recorded in both long-haul and intra-European traffic. Transfer traffic too is doing remarkably well owing to the hub activities of Brussels Airlines and the Star Alliance at our airport. This year the busiest departure days for the autumn mid-term holidays fell in October instead of November which accounts for leisure traffic showing a slight drop on November 2009.

        Cargo
With 40,838 tonnes carried in November cargo traffic records a 3.7% growth. Growth continues to be driven by the increase of cargo carried on board of passenger aircraft and full-freighters. Only integrator traffic is still recording slightly negative growth.

        Aircraft movements
Brussels Airport recorded 18,492 movements in November, a 4.1% increase on pcp. Both passenger and full-cargo flights are on the up. After many months of negative growth and a hesitant recovery the number of movements shows the strongest growth since the start of the crisis two year ago.

        New services
New services in November included the arrival of Air Arabia that moved from Charleroi to Brussels Airport with flights to Fez, Oujda and Casablanca. Air Lipsia started a direct two daily service to Leipzig on working days. Jetairfly launched services to Male and Colombo. Brussels Airlines added an extra weekly flight to Nairobi and Kigali. In the intra-European segment too extra capacity is added, including Lufthansa on the Frankfurt route and Cyprus Airways on the Larnaca route.

Qatar Airways is to open a five weekly service to Doha as from end January and easyJet will expand its network with a six weekly service to Liverpool as from mid February.
