Escaping the crisis with innovation and new business models: when they gather for the 13th Hamburg Aviation Conference, managers, representatives of the aviation authorities, and academics from five continents will be discussing how international airlines are responding to current challenges and what consequences this will have for Europe’s passengers.
The Hamburg Aviation Conference, which will take place from 10 to 12 February, 2010, will address issues such as ticket prices, on-board comfort, new technologies, and the significance of non-aviation business for the commercial success of airports and airlines. The theme of the conference for 2010 is “Strategy and Innovation in Aviation: Beyond the Current Crisis”. Experts at the three-day aviation summit will also address the question of how the future fleet growth of airlines can be financed if the leasing concepts that have prevailed until now are re-evaluated in light of the current global economic situation. There are currently 6,300 jets on order worldwide. Every year, the internationally renowned Hamburg Aviation Conference brings together aviation experts, both theorists and practitioners, to address current issues. Experts from the academic and research sector meet with respected managers of international aviation companies. Up to 300 participants are awaited this year. Hamburg Airport is organising the Hamburg Aviation Conference, supported by the University of British Columbia, the University of Applied Sciences in Bremen, and the German Aeronautical and Astronautical Society (DGLR). This unique gathering of aviation and travel experts has been monitoring the latest trends in aviation and influencing fundamental decisions within the industry for eleven years.
