Türkiye’s Airports Serve Over 211 Million Passengers in Ten Months
Ankara – Türkiye’s civil aviation sector continues to demonstrate strong growth.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the latest airport traffic statistics compiled by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ), highlighting that a total of 211,240,360 passengers were served across airports nationwide between January and October 2025.
The Minister emphasized that both domestic and international travel demand has continued to rise, reflecting Türkiye’s expanding air connectivity and the sustained recovery of global travel trends.

Istanbul Airport (IST) recorded:
- 7,632,493 passengers in October
- 70,493,901 passengers in the January–October period
Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW) handled:
- 4,442,875 passengers in October
- 40,070,923 passengers in the first ten months of the year
Minister Uraloğlu highlighted that the combined traffic of Istanbul’s two major airports — over 110 million passengers — is nearly seven times the population of Istanbul.
Tourism Hubs Welcome Nearly 58 Million Travelers
Between January and October 2025, airports in Türkiye’s key tourism regions served a total of 57,586,925 passengers.
