THAI Provides Immediate Assistance to Stranded Passengers at Suvarnabhumi Airport

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) today provides immediate and all possible assistance to stranded passengers at Suvarnabhumi Airport to transport them to their destinations.
 
Flight Lieutenant Pratana Patanasiri, THAI Vice President, Aviation Safety, Security & Standards Department, said that THAI’s Ground Customer Services Department provided assistance to stranded passenger in accordance with international standard and requirements in handling passengers who have been affected from flight cancellations. 

Accommodations or alternative flights were offered to bring them to their destinations.  THAI’s airport lounge was specially opened around the clock to accommodate transit Royal First Class and Royal Silk Class passengers with no Thailand entry visa while other lounges at Suvarnabhumi Airport were serviceable. 

Refreshments were also available 24 hours to all classes of passengers while waiting to check-in for their flights. THAI will take care of expenses incurred in this circumstance. Passengers who were booked to travel on the affected routes may change their itineraries without any fees and charges, and conditions apply. THAI apologized to passengers for any inconvenience this have caused.

 
THAI would like to express its gratitude and appreciation to individuals from both public and private organizations, Minister of Transport, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other entities including the Airports of Thailand Public Co., Ltd., Aeronautical Radio of Thailand ltd., the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand, Thai Customs Department, King Power, Tourist Police, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and Rachathewa Police Station, for their cooperation and support in facilitating the travel of stranded passengers and providing all possible assistance including facilities, issuance of a special visa in this situation, facilitating flight landing and approving permission on flying through other airspace, in order to resume flight operations to Europe as soon as possible.  The cooperation among all sectors reflects the power of Thailand in handling and resolving the unexpected situation to accomplish our mission.
