Turkish Ground Services (TGS), founded as ground handling services company in partnership with Turkish Airlines (THY) and Havaş in early 2010, has become entitled to receive ISO 9001: 2008 quality certification. TGS that receives passing grade from the German Quality Control Company TUV Thuringia, performing audit and certification in international scale, and Meyer’s, Turkish-origin, has been documented with this certificate that it can give services to domestic and foreign customers in world standards.
TGS Yer Hizmetleri A.Ş., the leading company of the ground services sector with its service quality, reliability and competitiveness, has obtained the Quality Management System Certificate by passing both national and international audit covering six airports, mainly Istanbul Ataturk Airport where TGS operates. TGS that takes its place in the sector as of January 2010 and proves that it would also provide services to its foreign customers in international standards by receiving ISO 9001: 2008 quality certificate in the first year of its foundation has documented its service quality. Bayram Özçelik, TGS General Manager, who received the quality certificate from Gökhan Yücel, General Manager of Meyer that audits more than five thousand companies including Turkish Technic A. Ş. and provides certification of the companies succeeded to reach the international quality standard, and Fevzi Gülünay, General Manager of the German TUV Thuringia that provides consultancy and certification services in 104 countries, emphasized on the importance of quality certificate. Özçelik, who gave a speech at the certificate ceremony held at Airport Hotel and where TGS station managers were present, said that "all of us are aware of the importance of quality certificate. However, it is this very difficult to obtain this certificate in the service sector but it is also meaningful in its difficulty proportion. Our customer that built its organization philosophy on customer satisfaction and quality service understanding became entitled to receive this certificate under the leadership of our Quality Directorate. What is ISO 9001?
ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Certificates, which mean an International Quality Management System standard, is given after a long audit process. This is measured with the full implementation of standard conditions within the business, the certification inspection of these applications and being subjected to interim audits performed every year.
