SunExpress Expands Aircraft Maintenance Technician Training Program with Two New Universities
SunExpress, the joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, is expanding its Aircraft Maintenance Technician Career Development and Support Program, which was launched last year in cooperation with Eskişehir Technical University. This year, the program is being extended to include Kocaeli University and Cappadocia University, widening its reach to more students in aviation technical fields.
The program is open to third-year students enrolled in Aircraft Airframe and Engine Maintenance and Aviation Electrical and Electronics departments at the three universities. Participants will work at SunExpress as part-time employees, benefiting from the same rights and privileges as company staff while gaining hands-on industry experience.
Practical Training and Career Opportunities
Within the scope of the program:
- Students will complete their internships at the SunExpress Maintenance Organization,
- Gain valuable practical experience in real maintenance operations,
- And have the opportunity to be hired as full-time technicians after graduation based on performance and evaluation.
Participants will also have access to domestic and international professional development training opportunities. A structured training pathway is planned for successful candidates to continue their development at Lufthansa Technik.

Statement from SunExpress
Dr. Yasin Öztürk, SunExpress Director of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs, emphasized the strategic value of the program:
“The strong interest and successful outcomes from the first year encouraged us to broaden the program. With the participation of Kocaeli and Cappadocia Universities, we are offering young talents a future-oriented career journey, while also contributing to the industry with a sustainable and highly qualified technical workforce.”
